  • Youthbuild - A three year, $1,000,000.00 project funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The purpose of this project was to train high school dropouts for jobs in the construction industry and to prepare those students to obtain their high school diplomas or their GEDs.
     
  • Construction of the Hampton University Business Incubator at 6 W. County Street, Hampton, Virginia - This facility houses the HCDC, and the Small Business Incubator program. Construction of the facility was funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The facility itself is a modern office building that houses a variety of small businesses and provides technical assistance to entrepreneurs and prospective entrepreneurs.
     
  • A project involving a $100,000.00 loan to a Home Health Care organization - This loan was used to expand the operation of the Home Health Care Agency and improve the marketing of its services. The expected result was the creation of new jobs for Certified Nurse Aides. The company underwent a substantial expansion of its business and later established its own training program for new employees.
     
  • Bridges to Economic Self Sufficiency Training (BESST) - A three-year project to identify and train qualified persons for employment in the growing Home Health Care industry.
