Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), Hampton University has been ranked among the top (No. 25) southern universities in the regional university category of the 2007 U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges rankings. And in 2004, HU was the top ranked co-ed HBCU on Black Enterprise's list of Top 50 Colleges for African Americans.
