Professional and career education and training for students
over the age of twenty-one is the primary focus of the Division
of Continuing Studies at Hampton University. The Division
of Continuing Studies (CS) offers students a variety of academic
degree programs to choose from: associate, baccalaureate, and
post-master certificate programs . Courses are offered year
round on an accelerated (nine week) session basis which enables
students already involved with careers or families to complete
degree requirements more quickly. Degree program curricula
offered by the Division
of Continuing Studies allows for the acceptance of previous
college credit and career and military credit as well. Students
with a variety of previous college, career, and/or military
credits are often able to complete undergraduate requirements
in fewer than four years.
The Division
of Continuing Studies can assist students with
non-degree career preparation as well through enrollment in
certificate programs which prepare individuals for immediate
employment in several key industries such as paralegal studies,
and hotel/restaurant management. The College also offers specialty
courses in post-graduate nursing, computer science, and nuclear
engineering technology to satisfy the training needs of workforce
groups within the Hampton Roads area.

to the main campus of Hampton University to facilitate its
access to adult degree-seekers. As the College's reputation
for serving the education and training needs of adult learners
