The College of Education and Continuing Studies consists of the:
The Child Development Center serves the educational and child care needs of the young children (2 ½ to 4 years old) of Hampton University employees and families in the surrounding community.
The Division of Professional Education works collaboratively with the seven departments in the Schools of Liberal Arts, Science, and Business to prepare candidates for professional certification as (PK-12) educators, counselors, and principals.
The Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation is part of the Division of Professional Education, and offers Bachelor of Science degree programs in Recreation and Tourism, and Sports Management.
The Division of Continuing Studies serves adult learners (aged 21 and over) by offering programs at the certificate, associate, bachelor, and post graduate levels. The division partners with the Schools of Nursing and Business to offer programs related to Nurse Practitioner training and Business Management respectively.
The OSHER Lifelong Learning Institute serves the educational needs and interests of mature adults (aged 55 and over). In May 2008, the College will launch its new center for research and information, called the Center for Educational Empowerment and Diversity Studies or “ceeds.”
