The Division of Continuing Studies (CS) offers adult students, age of twenty-one and over, a variety of academic degree programs, including: associate, baccalaureate, and post-master certificate programs. Courses are offered year round on an accelerated (nine week) session basis which enables students already involved with careers and/or families to complete degree requirements more quickly. Degree program curricula offered by the Division of Continuing Studies allows for the acceptance of previous college credit and career and military credit as well. Students with a variety of previous college, career, and/or military credits are often able to complete undergraduate requirements in fewer than four years.
The Division of Continuing Studies can assist students with non-degree career preparation as well through enrollment in certificate programs which prepare individuals for immediate employment in several key industries such as paralegal studies, and hotel/restaurant management. The College also offers specialty courses in post-graduate nursing, computer science, and nuclear engineering technology to satisfy the training needs of workforce groups within the Hampton Roads area.
The Division of Continuing Studies offers five nine week academic sessions throughout the year. Academic sessions are held during the following periods: August - October; October - December; January - March; March - May; and May - July. Students enjoy a winter break before classes resume in January.
