In this seminar, students will take a cross disciplinary approach towards addressing a variety of topics using logic, persuasion, argumentation, and debate. The intent is for students to practice the art of presenting a solid case with sound arguments.

This seminar will examine the political and social activism of African Americans from a literary perspective. This course will be reading intensive. A variety of genres (novels, poetry, essays, speeches, and songs) will be used to examine protests and politics in African American literature.

This seminar will explore the long history of the struggle for reproductive sovereignty in the United States, parallels in the reproductive and civil rights movements, highly-charged issues in sexual health rights today, and reproductive rights in a global context.
