The Department of Architecture maintains active membership in the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA), and the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA). We also maintain strong links with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) at the local, regional, and national level.

The Department has student chapters of the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS), and the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS). The Hampton Roads Chapter of the AIA currently sponsors the AIAS chapter.

In 2002, the National Hampton Alumni Association, Inc. chartered the Department of Architecture Alumni Association (HUAAA). The HUAAA was established to promote “effective communication between alumni and the Hampton University, encourage alumni participation, and provide a vehicle for scholarships and fund-raising, and alumni giving.”
