Curricular Information for Electrical and Computer Engineering

Requirements for Graduation with a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering

A major in Electrical Engineering consists of 29 credit hours of Electrical Engineering courses.  These are ELN 302, 303, 304, 307, 310, 311, 312, 403, 409, 411, 413, 420, 431, 434, and 436.   Additionally, students are required to take eight (8) credit hours of electrical engineering (ELN) courses in a chosen specialization track.  Students must also take nine (9) credit hours of technical electives, eleven (11) credit hours in mathematics, eight (8) credit hours in physics, eight (8) credit hours of general chemistry, thirty (30) credit hours in general engineering courses (EGR), and thirty (30) credit hours in general education courses for a total of 133 credit hours.  Students must achieve a minimum grade of “C” in all ELN, EGR, MAT, PHY and CHE courses to graduate.  Entering freshman testing below Calculus I are automatically placed in the Pre-Engineering Program.  Please refer to a current University catalog on the Pre-Engineering Program for more details.

Requirements for Graduation with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Engineering

A major in Computer Engineering consist of 25 credit hours in Electrical Engineering courses.  These are ELN 302, 303, 304, 307, 310, 311, 312, 403, 431, 482 and 483.  Additionally, they must take 15 credit hours in Computer Science courses.  These are CSC 204, 205, 251, 252 and 301.  They must also take 6 credit hours of technical electives and 27 credit hours of General Engineering(EGR) courses, 14 credit hours in Mathematics, 8 credit hours in Physics, 8 credit hours in General Chemistry and 30 credit hours in General Education courses for a total of 133 credit hours. Students must achieve a minimum grade of “C” in all CSC, EGR, ELN, MAT, PHY and CHE courses to satisfy graduation requirements for Computer Engineering.
