Student Achievement Profile Exit Requirements
Freshmen entering the Department receive from the Chairman a guide to the development of a professional portfolio. The student will build the portfolio through course work in the Department.
Student Teaching
Is the culminating experience for Health and Physical
Education majors. Students are assigned to teach at both the elementary
and secondary levels. This experience is a full semester experience
and occurs after the student has completed all course work and
has at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
Majors are certified to teach (PreK-12 grades) upon completion of all degree requirements. Health and Physical Education majors may be employed in a variety of positions including:
- Public and Private School Teachers
- Director of Intramural Sports
- Directors of Interscholastic Athletics
- Coaches
- Physical Fitness Specialists
- Athletic Trainers
- Sports Medicine Related Areas
- Health Educators
