Born in Newport News , Virginia , Dr. Earle Williams was raised and educated in Boston , Massachusetts . In 1987, he returned to Virginia with his family and began his employment at Eastern State Hospital (ESH), where within two years he was the Acting Director of Psychology. During his employment at ESH, Dr. Williams was trained as a forensic psychologist at the University of Virginia 's Institute of Law , Psychiatry and Public Policy. Dr. Williams left ESH to begin his own private practice. He has also served as an adjunct faculty at Hampton University and at The College of William and Mary. Presently, Dr. Williams is an assistant professor in the department of psychology at Hampton University and a consultant at Christian Psychotherapy Services where he does individual, family, and group therapy. In his private independent practice, Dr. Williams performs forensic evaluations for the state and lawyers in Norfolk , Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake , Virginia . He is also a trainer for the Department of Juvenile Justice in the areas of "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)", "Treatment of Adolescent Sex Offenders", "Juvenile Delinquency", and "Forensic Psychology & Juvenile Defendants". Dr. Williams is also a speaker/trainer for private organizations such as Lorman and Cross Country Seminars. For these organizations he has done training on the topics of "Writing Behavior Plans for Aggressive Children and Adults", "Treatment of Oppositional Defiant Disorder", and "Forensic Psychology". Dr. Williams is trained in the application of "Positive Psychology/Authentic Happiness". In addition to his psychotherapy, forensic evaluations, training and speaker roles, he is the family counselor for S1. Mary's Church. Dr. Williams has written two books, "Psychology from Scripture" and "Oh, So You Think You're Grown". |
