  School of Nursing Funded Initiatives

Funded initiatives in the School of Nursing at Hampton University have been funded by several mechanisms.

Our present funded initiatives are as follows:--

HU Nurses Ultimate Recruiting Strategies for Excellence (HU-NURSE)

The project is designed to develop and implement an aggressive recruitment and retention program by building on the School’s recruitment model and adding innovative retention approaches, such as providing specially designed tutorial courses, individualized academic counseling and advising, financial management seminars, and professional socialization experiences, to reflect a recruitment, progression, and graduation model.

Hampton University Pre-Entry and Post-Enrollment Program (HU-PREPP)

The purpose of this project is to plan, develop and implement pre-entry and retention activities for persons from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Registered Nurse to Masters Degree Career Advancement Program (RN-MSCAP)

The RN-MSCAP program has been developed to facilitate the academic progression of Registered Nurses who hold the Associate Degree in Nursing or the Diploma in Nursing through the baccalaureate and Master’s degree programs.
