The Department of Chemistry has two seminar programs--The Departmental Seminar Program and the Senior/Graduate Seminar Program. Each seminar program is directed by a Chemistry faculty member and announcements for upcoming seminars are posted throughout Turner Hall.

The Departmental Seminar: Invited guests from other institutions, government laboratories, industry and other research and educational facilities present their research or hold informational sessions for students and faculty. Students are encouraged to attend the Departmental seminars to stay current with research at other institutions and learn about industry organizations. By attending the Departmental Seminars, our Chemistry majors gain in their knowledge of cutting edge techniques and can interact with other Chemistry professionals. These seminars are usually held on THURSDAYS at 4:00 P.M. but are subject to change.

The Departmental seminars also serve as recruitment vehicles for graduate school and employment positions.

The Senior/Graduate Seminar Seniors and graduate students present their research or topics of current interest on MONDAYS at 6:00 PM. All Chemistry Students are invited to attend.
