The Center is housed within a waterfront building with six research laboratories, a teaching laboratory, electronic classroom, conference room and faculty offices. In addition, the department operates a laboratory on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

There are three research vessels that support academic and research activities. The R/V Pirates Cove, a 33 foot dead rise boat; tee Aquaria, a motor sailer designed for trawling, and the Chesapeake, a 53' ketch rigged sail boat. A variety of smaller power boats and canoes are available to explore the small inlets and creeks in the area.
