Chairperson's Welcome Message

It is my pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the Department of Mathematics at Hampton University. We pledge to teach, challenge, and encourage you to think both deeply and broadly. Our goal is to provide you with a rich intellectual experience in mathematics that will prepare you to think critically about your world in ways you might not have thought possible. We want to prepare you to be thoughtful and thought-provoking citizens who will use your HU experience in mathematics to enhance your future as well as the future of the world. If you are one of our many undergraduates or graduate students who plan additional study, we will also prepare you superbly for postgraduate or professional experience.

Mathematics is the traditional heart of the sciences, and we are delighted to have you as part of it. We hope you enjoy the experience and the excellence of Mathematics at Hampton University.
