Department Mission
To prepare physical therapists who are qualified to practice autonomously
the art and science of physical therapy in a variety of environments
and who will contribute to the profession and to the community
that they serve through scholarship, service, and leadership.
Curriculum Outcome Objectives:
- Practice competently, legally, ethically and with compassion
in various environments,
- Communicate sensitively to diverse patient/clients, families,
caregivers and communities in the provision of physical therapy
services,
- Participate in research either individually or in collaboration
with others,
- Advocate for the profession, patients, colleagues and the public,
- Plan a course of action for personal and professional development,
- Teach diverse populations, peers, colleagues, patients and the
public in a language suited to the audience,
- Participate in civic, legislative, community activities and
in local regional national and international activities to advance
the profession,
- Participate in administration, management and consultation
in the provision of Physical Therapy services
