Location
of Summer Session
The office of the Summer Session is
located in 304 Wigwam West. The Wigwam
building is one of several National Historical
Landmarks located on our beautiful campus.
Wigwam was constructed in 1878, and housed
the first American Native male students.
This more-than-a-hundred-year-old structure
provides an interesting and pleasant
center for the activities of the Summer
Session operations.
A Message from the Director of the
Summer Session
Welcome to the 2013 Summer Session at Hampton University! As
you peruse the Summer Session Bulletin, you will find a variety of
course offerings. Information about our special summer programs and
workshops for children and young adults, as well as general
information regarding admission to the Summer Session, registration,
fees, resources and services is also highlighted.
We encourage you to take full advantage of all that our
"Home by the Sea" has to offer. As you engage in
concentrated study, please take time also to stroll along the
waterfront, visit the internationally renowned HU Museum, view the
Booker T. Washington monument, experience the majesty of the
Emancipation Oak or gaze upon the colorful flags surrounding Ogden
Circle. These are but a few of our campus treasures.
Summer Session at Hampton University will provide you with
the opportunity for study in an intellectually stimulating and
socially supportive environment. The Office of the Summer Session is
ready to assist you in ensuring that your summer experience is an
enriching and exciting one. Best wishes for a successful
summer!
