New Requirements for Immunizations

Steps for Applying to the Pre-College Program

Step 1: Identify which component of the Pre-College Program you are eligible to attend. See descriptions below:

  • Summer Only: The summer only program is for students who have not applied to Hampton University and plan to attend another college in the fall. This student may enroll in two courses: history, oral communications, or a social science only.
  • Rising Seniors: Students entering their senior year of high school in the fall may enroll in a maximum of two (2) courses; history, oral communications, or a social science.
  • Pre-College: The Pre-College program is for students who are admitted and plan to enroll at Hampton University in the fall. In addition to English and math, Pre-College students are permitted to enroll in one of the courses below. Please indicate your first, second, and third choice. Please use numerals. Enrollment is based strictly upon availability.
  • Summer Bridge: This program is for students who are conditionally admitted to Hampton University pending successful completion of this program. These students are required to take two (2) courses, English and math, and earn a 2.5 GPA by the end of the program.

Step 2: Complete and submit the SHS Medical Form and all immunization records to the Health Center by May 1, 2014.

Step 3: Complete the Pre-College Online Enrollment Form and submit by May 1, 2014.

Step 4: If you are applying to the Rising Senior or Summer Only component of the program a Summer Session application and a $35.00 fee must be submitted to the Office of Summer Sessions.

Step 5: Continue to the Pre-College Application Packet where you will find more important information about Pre-College and additional forms to be submitted if necessary (e.g.: Disclosure Form for Late Arrivals, Summer Sign Out Authorization Form, Rising Senior Disclosure Form).

Step 6: Send $500 non-refundable deposit to the Business Office along with a Deposit Voucher by May 1, 2014. The voucher should contain the cardholder's name, student's name, and their HU identification number. This voucher should be sent when paying the remaining balance of $1,700 by May 30, 2014.
