CRITERIA
The initial criteria for the NHAA, Inc. Alumni Endowed Scholarship
will be reviewed and re-evaluated in four years.
- Awards will be made to incoming freshmen students.
- Students must have a 3.0 GPA or a 2.7 GPA with
significant community service or entrepreneurial activity.
- Awardees must maintain a 3.0 GPA for the continuance
of the scholarship.
- Awards will be made to one (1) student from
each of the seven regions.
- Initial awards can be up to $10,000 for each
incoming freshman. Scholarships for each of the remaining
three (3) years will also be for up to $10,000. The scholarship
amount will be determined by dividing the amount of funds
available by the number of recipients. The available funds
will be prorated among eligible recipients so that scholarships
are awarded to recipients from each of the seven regions.
Recipients will receive ½ of the scholarship for the
1st semester and ½ of the scholarship for the second
semester. Scholarship funds may also be used for books.
- Students must have completed and submitted the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to Hampton
University and have followed all financial aid procedures.
- The NHAA Inc. Scholarship recipients are required to work 30 hours a month for seven months September, October, November, January, February, March, April. During the months of December and May students are required to perform 10 hours of work in the Alumni office instead of 30 hours.
- All criteria must be met or the recipient will forfeit the scholarship.
