Internships aren't all work and no play, as Moranne Clarke (above) and Xavier Francis (below) found out in the summer of 2001. Clarke, a public relations major from Fairburn, Ga., interned at E. W. Scripps Co. corporate headquarters and at WCPO-TV; and Francis, a broadcast journalism major from South Ozone Park, N. Y., interned at Blind Squirrels Production Group Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio. In their off hours, they got a lesson in horseback riding at the farm of Judith and Gene Clabes in neighboring Kentucky.
