Dr. Holmes received her BA in Psychology from Hampton University in 1992, and both her MA and PhD in Social Psychology from Wayne State University (Detroit, MI) in 1998 and 2001, respectively. During her time at Hampton she has taught Introduction to Psychology, Theories of Personality, Statistics I, and Social Psychology. In addition to teaching, Dr. Holmes is also interested in developing a broad-ranged research program at Hampton University. Specifically, she is interested in examining the relationship between personality, coping style and health outcomes, issues in African American aging, and HIV/AIDS in older African American adults. Her long-range goal is to obtain federal funding to pursue these research interests, while simultaneously providing research opportunities for serious-minded students. |
