the federal government's changing priorities. Though a
majority of education research journals are not on line, you
can find reports, abstracts, bibliographies and a variety of
other information. (See the resources listed below.) Read as
much as possible. To keep up to date on a regular basis:

LISTSERVES
A List Server distributes e-mail messages on specific
topics to and from its members serving as a discussion
forum. For general information about a list, send a "help"
message to the server with no subject. To join a list, send
e-mail to the listserve address, with Subscribe and Last
Name, First Name in the message, leaving the subject area
blank. For majordomo lists, send e-mail and write subscribe
and the list name as the message. Many listserves also have
an FAQ (frequently asked questions archive) with lists of
references, recent research and other resources. This is a

Disability Newsgroups
A newsgroup is another type of discussion system similar
to listserves. It consists of a set of newsgroups with names
that are classified hierarchically by subject. Articles or
messages are posted to these newsgroups and broadcast across
