Mr. Vic Brown is a member of the IBM Federal CTO team with a speciality in the development and deployment of very large scale software systems. Mr. Brown's technical expertise centers on IBM's premier technologies of middle ware, which is essentially internet infrastructure software, and the emerging field of full function collaboration.
Mr. Brown has led successful projects in these technology areas for the Department of Defense among other customers. Mr. Brown is not only recognized by IBM as a technical leader, but also by the larger IT community. Mr. Brown is a recent winner of an Outstanding Black Engineer award.
Mr. Brown is also a graduate of Norfolk State University and actively engaged as an alumnus and IBM University Ambassador.
Information Assurance Opportunities in the Private Sector
Abstract: Extending the reach of an academic department to the opportunities found in the government and commercial Information Assurance sectors is not as complex nor as ambiguous when a well-organized plan is put into action. This presentation covers several aspects of such a plan. During this presentation we'll look at approaches for engaging with the US Government, industry consortiums, and specific industry partners.
