Shawn Hernan is a member of the technical staff in the CERT®Coordination Center, which is a part of the Networked SystemsSurvivability Program at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI).

Hernan leads the vulnerability handling group, analyzing informationabout security vulnerabilities in computer systems andcommunicating this information to others.

Prior to coming to the SEI, Hernan worked for seven years in theSystems and Networks Division of the University of Pittsburgh,where he developed databases and network applications, andshared in the system administration of the centralized computingfacilities and the large campus network.

Hernan received a BS in computer science from the University ofPittsburgh.
