Maryland Alliance for Information Security and Assurance (MAISA)
Abstract:
In 2004, Morgan State University joined with Towson University and a number of other colleges and universities in Maryland to form a group called the Maryland Alliance for Information Security and Assurance, or MAISA.
With a grant from the NSF, MAISA set about to meet four specific objectives in relation to Information Assurance:
- Training faculty workforce in IA education
- Developing IA curriculum for undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs in IA for four-year schools
- Developing IA curriculum as concentration in the IT related AA programs for two-year schools
- Preparing to become a center of excellence in IA education
The presentation will focus on Morgan’s involvement with MAISA and our quest to develop both a graduate and undergraduate program in IA. The main issues discussed will include: faculty training, curriculum development, IA lab development, publications and conferences, assessment of workshops, some of the challenges and opportunities and the future directions of IA at MSU.
