Daniel J. Ryan is a Professor of Systems Management at the National Defense University, teaching information security, information assurance, cryptography, network security and computer forensics.
Prior to joining NDU, Dan was a lawyer in private practice, a businessman and an educator teaching law and information security for George Washington University. Before entering private practice as an attorney, he served as Corporate Vice President of Science Applications International Corporation with responsibility for information security for Government customers and commercial clients
Mr. Ryan received his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Tulane University, a Master’s in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, a Master of Business Administration degree from California State University and the degree of Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland.
He is admitted to the Bars of Maryland and the District of Columbia, and has been admitted to practice in the United States District Court, the United States Tax Court, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has been Certified by the United States Government as a Professional in the fields of Data Systems Analysis, Mathematics and Cryptologic Mathematics, and holds a CNSS 4011 Information Systems Security Professional Certificate.
