Description

The Early Childhood Education Teacher Assistant is primarily responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in the provision of direct service to students. Assistant is responsible for helping the teacher in all facets if classroom instruction and organization. 

Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties include

• Preparation and implementation of teaching/learning environment;
  
• Assisting  in evaluating student work;
  
• Attending staff development opportunities;
• Participating in interdepartmental teaching experiences;
  
• Participating in parent conferences;
• Maintaining student attendance records;
• Performing other duties as deemed necessary by the teacher and/or Director.

Requirements
Attendance and participation in professional workshops are required. Assisting in the maintaining of student records that conform to State requirements and an ability to be flexible and team-spirited are also necessary requirements.

Qualifications
Must possess a two (2) year degree in either Early Childhood Education or class work and practical experience in an early childhood environment. Must possess knowledge of current theory and methods in teaching. Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public.
