Description

The Senior IT Analyst develops, produces, and maintains various University web applications in collaboration with Office of Web Services and other University personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will

• Analyze functional processes, develop solutions, and implement critical information system and web applications that execute in a variety of technical architectures
• Develop, write, test, implement and maintain moderately complex and complex applications to be used in diverse technical environments while ensuring both accuracy and efficiency;
• Analyze requests to determine feasibility and, where necessary, propose, plan, and implement alternative solutions to achieve specified goals;
• Build websites using technologies that conform to international standards and make sure that they are universally accessible;
• Provide technical assistance and guidance as the technical liaison for assigned teams and committees;
• Provide training on maintenance and update procedures to clients who are responsible for portions of implemented applications;
• Act as lead in problem resolution and management on assigned projects.
  

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or comparable experience in Computer Science, Web Development, Communications, or related discipline; Demonstrated knowledge or expertise in HTML/DHTML/XHTML, XML/XSLT, Oracle, PL/SQL, and MySQL; Experience working with Oracle Reports, Crystal Reports, or similar reporting tool; Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (IE, Firefox, Safari, Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.); Attention to detail, customer-service orientation, and creativity in problem-solving; Ability to work in a team and to communicate in a clear way to provide training to staff and faculty; Superior knowledge of current application development trends and techniques.

Experience with SCT Banner over Oracle databases, experience with PL/SQL and Java programming, and working knowledge of J3EE technologies such as JSPs and Java Servlets are desirable areas of experience.
