Description

The Senior Web Developer develops and maintains web-based applications using a variety of web programming tools,  performs conversion of existing legacy applications to meet updated programming standards and interfaces with departmental representatives for modifications to existing systems as well as new development initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will

  • Develop, code, test, debug, document, maintain, modify and implement web applications;
  • Create applications that involve formatted output and complex reporting;
  • Write basic data extracts and flat file interfaces;
  • Design and code basic screen functionality;
  • Interface with functional specialists to ensure solution design and integrity;
  • Prepare technical specifications and test plans;
  • Devise sample input data to test accuracy of program;
  • Resolve questions of program intent, input data acquisition, time sharing, output requirements, coding use and modification, and inclusion of internal checks/code reviews for system integrity;
  • Observe or run test of program using sample or actual data, assist in user acceptance training;
  • Participate in roll out of developed applications;
  • Maintain a working knowledge of advancing technologies;
  • Identify applicable solutions and implement with existing technologies when appropriate.

Requirements

Certification in Web Development or related discipline; Associates Degree or above preferred, 3+ years of web development experience that includes expertise with one or more of the following: ColdFusion, PHP, ActionScript, JavaScript, and MySQL.  Solid understanding of functional integration points, entity relationships, and module flows.  This role involves requirements gathering and related applications support thus excellent organization and communication skills are required.
