Description

The Operations Supervisor leads and oversees the operations and administrative processes performed by a team of IT Programmers/Analysts that support the University’s Student Information System (SIS)/Enterprise Resource Program (ERP).  The successful candidate ensures that each IT Programmer/Analysts has an area of primary responsibility and acts as a backup for other team members.  The Operations Supervisor supports the operation and functionality of the university’s SIS/ERP system, Ellucian Banner, in collaboration with other university colleagues.  The position requires the candidate to develop, write, test, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot scripts in a technical environment.  The Operations Supervisor will also have the responsibly to consult and train SIS/ERP functional end-users in general ERP usage.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to lead and head complex, technical projects using industry accepted project management techniques

  • Manage and lead diverse teams in addition to being able to work independently on routine assignments

  • Develops, writes, tests, implements and maintains moderate to complex Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL) scripts using Oracle based SQL tools

  • Develops and maintains reports based on various reporting tools

  • Acts as an ERP liaison providing operational and technical assistance to campus faculty and staff to include vendor support portals

  • Interoperability with Blackboard Learn Student Services or other learning management system (LMS)

  • Ability to effectively login and transfer files between differing platforms using ssh, scp, sftp, etc.

  • Keep abreast of functional updates and changes to the SIS/ERP system

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Information Technology, or a related technical field
  • Equivalent technical training and/or work experience may suffice in lieu of academic requirements
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 2013/2016 Products
  • Familiarity working in Windows and Linux/UNIX platforms

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Ellucian Banner modules such as Alumni, Advancement, Finance, Financial Aid, Human Resources, Student
  • Experience working with third party enterprise vendors in software implementation and data validation
  • Familiarity with PL/SQL syntax and using PL/SQL tools such as TOAD, SQL Developer, or SQL Plus
  • Ability to effectively plan, document, and execute project based tasks
  • Experience operating in an higher-education environment
