Continuing Studies is an academic unit of the College of Education and Continuing Studies at Hampton University, which serves non-traditional students. It operates as an independent college in terms of programs and degree offerings. Courses are taught on campus, online, and at Langley Air Force Base.
Continuing Studies is accepting applications from prospective adjunct instructors in the following areas:
- Computer Science
- Foreign Language
- Paralegal Studies
- Physical Science
- Public Safety
- Religious Studies
Duties and Responsibilities
Adjunct Faculty in the Division of Continuing Studies teach courses that draw upon their rich variety of academic disciplines and work experiences. They facilitate meaningful learning of the course competencies in the curriculum and proactively support all facets of the learning environment. Through the provision of learning-centered instruction, graduates are prepared to fulfill the evolving needs of the marketplace. Adjunct faculty must encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning and ethics, as well as personal and professional development. This position is part time/adjunct only.
Courses are offered online and face-to-face in the evenings at our three locations - Hampton Harbor, Langley Air Force Base and the College of Virginia Beach.
Candidates must hold a master's degree, with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline or a terminal degree in the relevant discipline.
