The chief objective of this position is to process applications for students receiving assistance via State of Virginia Grant Programs, Institutional Grant-n-Aid Programs, Scholarships and Grants from external agencies.  Respond to scholarship and grant inquiries from students and parents. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Financial Aid.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processes federal, state, and institutional grants and scholarships;
  • Interprets and implements federal, state and institutional regulations and guidelines;
  • Advises parents and students in person on all inquiries relating to scholarships and grant-n-aid;
  • Assists parents and students with the completion of required forms;
  • Understands and maintains current knowledge of federal and state grant programs;
  • Ensure student awards do not exceed the total cost of attendance or over-awarded;
  • Acts as a resource person for support staff;
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Financial aid or higher education experience, preferred
  • High school graduate; Bachelors degree preferred
