The Hampton University School of Science invites nominations and applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders. The person selected for the position will be expected to begin work on August 27, 2012. Founded in 1868, Hampton University is a leading historically black university (HBCU) located on the Virginia Peninsula in the City of Hampton. It is a privately endowed, co-educational, nonsectarian institution of higher learning with accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, advising students, participating in research and other scholarly activities, and providing service to the University and community.
The successful candidate must have an earned Doctorate in Communication Disorders and the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology. Salary and rank are commensurate with experience.
Preference will be given to candidates who have an interest in swallowing, adult language disorders and/or speech science. Eligibility for Virginia licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist is preferred.
