The Hampton University School of Pharmacy invites highly motivated candidates to apply for select full-time faculty positions. These are 12-month positions that will be filled at the rank of Assistant Professor pursuant to credentials and qualifications.  Faculty members are expected to be active in service to the School of Pharmacy, the greater Hampton University community, and the profession as a whole.  Successful candidates will have experience in the areas of Internal Medicine and Ambulatory Care or Social and Administrative Pharmacy.

The School of Pharmacy is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. It is located on the east coast of Virginia in the picturesque Hampton Roads area composed of the "seven cities" of Hampton, Norfolk, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth and Newport News. Duties and Responsibilities

Internal Medicine and Ambulatory Care:

Responsibilities include developing, coordinating and delivering didactic education; establishing and maintaining innovative clinical practice sites; precepting students; conducting scholarly activity; and actively engaging in service to the University and community.

Social and Administrative Pharmacy:

Responsibilities include teaching in the professional Pharm.D. program, pursuing research and scholarly activity in the area of administrative pharmacy; and actively engaging in service to the University and community. 


Internal Medicine and Ambulatory Care:

Successful candidates must have a Pharm.D. degree, demonstrate proof of completion of one to two years of residency training or have equivalent experience in the specialty area for which they are applying, and be eligible for Virginia pharmacist licensure. Board certification is highly desirable. 

Social and Administrative Pharmacy:

Successful candidates will have earned a PhD in social and administrative Pharmacy or closely related area or Pharm.D. with postgraduate training/education in a closely related area. Preference will be given to candidates with a professional degree in pharmacy, prior teaching experience, and a background in health outcomes.
