The Academic Support Liaison is a staff position responsible for the overall management of a student’s successful academic journey.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consult with and act as liaison with campus registrar in the development and interpretation of all accelerated/online program transfer policies.

  • Coordinate system for smooth flow of student data through the College of Continuing Studies to appropriate offices (Enrollments, Add/Drops, etc.).

  • Verify class start lists provided by Admissions.

  • Partner with Registrar to evaluate student files for all accelerated/online programs:

  • Determine student’s outstanding requirements for graduation, including institutional core, major, general education, and elective requirements.

  • Complete a review of student files prior to graduation.

  • Maintain a tracking system for number of learners currently enrolled, number of program completions, and number of program withdrawals, number of graduates, and other related statistics.

  • Oversee the preparation of the student degree progress audit.

  • Review student schedules.

  • Coordinate graduate participation in conjunction with the Registrar’s Office.

  • Serve as liaison between students and University Registrar.

  • Coordinate and/or provide input toward the development of documents and forms related to the accelerated/online studies program (i.e., student handbook, catalog and prior learning assessment process).

  • Track students on academic probation for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and make referrals with University resources (i.e. Advising, Writing Center.)

  • Deliver enrollments, add/drops, and other status changes to the Registrar’s Office.

  • Primary point of contact for student information and retention efforts.

  • Set up and plan student events.

  • Attend accelerated/online program academic policy committee meetings, administrative staff meetings, and faculty meetings.

  • Coordinate the process of providing students information on Learning Management System, Student Portal, and other training for students to be prepared for classes.

  • Prepare reports as directed by Accelerated/Online Program Chair on retention metrics.

  • Serve as the accelerated/online program student services liaison to appropriate meetings or committees.

  • Meet regularly with Accelerated/Online Program Chair to discuss all ongoing aspects of student services and opportunities for enhancement.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Education:Bachelor’s Degree (accredited four-year College or university)
  • Experience: Two or more years work experience in higher education.

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
  • Must possess excellent management, organization interpersonal, writing, presentation skill.
  • Ability to work well with staff, faculty and students.
