>Library Instruction
Every Hampton University student should have the benefit of library instruction
while attending the university. These library and research skills, also
known as information
literacy, are essential to each student for their college and
lifelong success.
- Course-Based Instruction
Course-Based Instruction sessions are tailored to the needs of the
faculty member requesting the instruction. These sessions are designed
to familiarize the student with the resources available in their discipline,
or to assist an entire class with the research process on a given
topic. Call 727-5379 to schedule a session, or complete this form
Library Instuction Request Form
and email to: Girija
Venkat. The Librarians require 7 day's notice to prepare for
Course-Based Instruction. Sessions are held in the Harvey Library.
- Research Paper Consultations
Consultations are designed specifically for individuals who would
like to work one-on-one with a Librarian on a specific research topic.
These consultations are available on an appointment basis only. An
informational form is available at the Reference Desk. Please complete
this form when requesting an appointment. It will allow the librarian
to better prepare for your session. You will hear from the librarian
as soon as possible (within 24 hours).
- Special Workshops
From time to time we offer special workshops, such as how to search
in specific databases or citation styles.
