2012 OUTSTANDING FACULTY AWARD

The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia has named Dr. Zina McGee, Hampton University endowed professor of sociology, a 2012 Outstanding Faculty Award recipient. The award is the highest recognition for professors from the Commonwealth.

SELECTED TO COMPETE IN SOLAR DECATHLON 2013

Team Tidewater Virginia, made up of students from Hampton and Old Dominion Universities, has been selected to compete in the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Solar Decathlon 2013. This is the second consecutive time Team Tidewater has been chosen to compete in the Solar Decathlon.

01/25/12 HU TO HOST "EDUCATION UNDER FIRE" SCREENING

Hampton University is hosting a screening and panel discussion on the 30-minute documentary “Education Under Fire.” The program focuses on the Islamic Republic of Iran's 30-year policy to deny members of its Bahá´í community the right to attend any institution of higher education. The screening is at 7 p.m., Feb. 9 in the HU Student Center Theater.

Hampton University will host a town hall meeting to discuss the topic Fighting Educational Injustice on Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. in the HU Student Center Ballroom. The town hall meeting is sponsored by the Bernard Center for Women, Politics & Public Policy and National School Choice Week, Jan. 22-28.
