02/05/10 HU BLACK FAMILY CONFERENCE TO FOCUS
ON MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT
  Hampton, VA - Hampton University will host the 32nd Annual Conference on the Black Family on March 17-19.  The theme for this year’s conference is “The Holistic Black Family: Mind, Body and Spirit” and will feature discussions on African American families in the areas of education, health and physical fitness and spirituality. The College of Education and Continuing Studies will sponsor the event.

01/29/10 HU TO RECEIVE $8M TO BUILD BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH CENTER
  Hampton, VA - The National Institutes of Health has awarded Hampton University an $8 million stimulus grant to construct a Biomedical Research Center (BRC). The interdisciplinary biomedical research facility will be home to research activities such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, adolescent health, HIV/AIDS, biomolecular cancer imagining, medicinal chemistry, Alzheimer’s and other projects from the Hampton University Schools of Nursing, Pharmacy, and Science.

01/28/10 HU PROFESSOR RECEIVES OUTSTANDING FACULTY AWARD
  Hampton, VA - Dr. Doyle Temple, professor of physics and chair of the physics department at Hampton University, received the state's highest honor for professors. The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia announced on Wednesday that 12 faculty members from Virginia’s public and private colleges and universities were selected as recipients of the 2010 Outstanding Faculty Award (OFA).
