HU Participates in VS PINK Competition Hampton, VA - Hampton University and Victoria’s Secret PINK proudly announce the addition of HU to the PINK Collegiate Collection clothing line. HU is one of five HBCUs to be added to the collection. To celebrate the launch, PINK is hosting a competition from Jan. 26 – Feb. 22 where the winner will receive a special campus visit from PINK in the spring.Florida A&M University, Hampton University, Howard University, North Carolina A&T State University and Southern University are part of the PINK HBCU Collegiate Collection. The apparel consists of tees, pants, hoodies, and shorts featuring PINK brand and HU iconography. PINK will track sales at Victoria’s Secret stores and online of the new HBCU Collegiate product and the school with the highest sales will win the event. With the help of Tom Joyner and www.blackamericaweb.com, PINK will announce the HBCU each week that has the highest sales. Listeners can tune in every Thursday to the “Tom Joyner Morning Show” starting February 5 – 26 to hear the winner for the previous week’s sales. "This is the largest retail distribution deal ever offered to HBCUs," Richard Dent, chief operating officer of PINK said, "This partnership is symbolic of PINK's desire to be the most aspirational collegiate brand in America targeted to college age women of all ethnicities." By purchasing any HU product from the PINK Collegiate Collection, customers will be providing direct support to HU as a portion of proceeds go to the university. Launched in 2004, Victoria’s Secret PINK is a fully articulated lifestyle collection for young women. The Victoria’s Secret PINK Collegiate Collection was launched in July 2008 and is an exclusive assortment of collegiate co-branded merchandise that features VS PINK’s highly recognizable brand iconography and the names and logos of the top universities on fashion apparel.
