Celebrities Ripe at HU Spring Fest Week 2008

Hampton, VA - This year's Hampton University Spring Fest Week has celebrity written all over it. Name brand comics, rap artists and gospel singers have scheduled appearances at HU throughout the week, which begins March 30 and ends April 5. The events are open to the public.

Sun., March 30 - Sunday's Best Gospel Concert featuring 2008 winner Crystal Aikins. The performance is in Ogden Hall from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 the day of the show.

Wed., April 2 - A comedy show featuring DeeRay in Ogden Hall is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $5 and $10, and are available in the HU student activities office only.

Thur., April 3 - The Miss Hampton University pre show is from noon to 2 p.m. in the student center with DJ Boogie. The Miss Hampton University Fashion Show is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the HU Convocation Center. Tickets are $5, $10 and $20 and may be purchased at ticketmaster.com.

Fri., April 4 - High School Day is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. campus wide, and is free and open to high school students. The Greek Step Show is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. with MC Suede in Ogden Hall. Tickets are $10 with HU ID for a limited time. Tickets are $20 the week of the show and can be purchased only at the HU student activities office.

Sat., April 5 - The spring concert featuring Common and Pleasure P of Pretty Ricky at the HU Convocation Center is from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $10 with HU ID for the first 500 students, and $20. All tickets can be purchased at ticketmaster.com or the HU Convocation Center.
