HU Dean Honored for 40 Years of Service

Hampton, VA -The National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Inc. will honor Hampton University School of Business Dean Dr. Sid H. Credle with the 2009 National Achievement-Education Award.
The awards celebration banquet was held during the Annual National Convention on June 19, in New Orleans. According to NABA, the award is given to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements as an accounting educator.
“I have been in this profession since ’67; to be selected as NABA celebrates their 40th anniversary is an honor,” stated Credle. “This award puts me in a class with some of the great Black accounting legends, it is truly an honor.”
In addition, Credle was recently selected as a member of the Comptroller General’s Educator’s Advisory Panel. The panel meets annually and his position is for a three-year term. According to the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), the panel’s purpose is to establish long-term mutually beneficial working relationships between the GAO and leading deans, professors, and selected others. The panel provides advice on strategies, best practices, operations, and emerging human capital issues and trends related to recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of a diverse, talented, dedicated and results-oriented workforce.
“I am honored to be appointed to such an important body,” stated Credle. “I will do my very best to provide the best relevant advise that I can.” |
