HU 5K by the Bay results Hampton, VA -More than 400 people, participated in the Hampton University 5K by the Bay on Oct. 11. HU students, staff, alumni and members of the general public all participated in the scholarship fundraiser. The event was one of the two fundraisers this month to raise scholarship funds for HU students. HU has been chosen as the Tom Joyner Foundation "School of the Month" for October 2008 and will be featured on the Tom Joyner Show, which airs locally on 105.3 KISS FM, that month. The next event, the Tom Joyner Foundation and HU Partnership Comedy Jam: A Special Tribute to Bernie Mac will be held on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. in the HU Convocation Center. Tickets are $10 for students with ID, $35 balcony and $45 floor and mezzanine. Tickets can be purchased at the HU Convocation Center, ticketmaster.com or any Ticketmaster location.
