HU Presents Celebrity Basketball Game

Hampton, VA - Come out and see celebrities take on HU faculty, staff, students and alumni in the Hampton University Athletics Department’s Celebrity Classic Basketball Game. The game will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 23 at the HU Convocation Center. The entire community, including HU alumni and students, as well as local youth groups and sports teams are invited. The charitable event will support the HU Pirate Pride Campaign, which helps fund scholarships for student-athletes.

Game participants will include members of the HU community and celebrity athletes – Reggie Williams, Indiana Pacers; Johnny Newman, New Jersey Nets; Trevor Ruffin, Philadelphia 76ers; Aaron Brooks, Oakland Raiders; Ron Anderson, North Carolina State University and Jessica Simmonds, George Washington University.

The game is sponsored by RK Toyota. Tickets may be purchased at the RK Toyota dealership located at 2301 W. Mercury Blvd, Hampton. Prices are $5 for adults and $2 for students, and children ages six and under are free. Tickets will be available at the Convocation Center at 1 p.m. on game day.

There will be prizes and giveaways for participants and guests, including an opportunity to win a new Toyota in a half court challenge. Celebrities will be available to take pictures with guests.
