HU Presents Free Holiday Performance of Handel's Messiah

Hampton, VA - The Hampton University Department of Music, The University Chamber Orchestra and the Hampton University Choirs present the annual performance of George F. Handel’s Messiah on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. in HU’s Ogden Hall.  Admission is free and open to the public.

Maestro Jerry A. Bracey, assistant professor of music and director of the HU Jazz Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra, will conduct the orchestra and Royzell Dillard, assistant professor of music and director of the HU Choirs, will conduct the choirs.  This timeless musical holiday classic that has become a traditional event in the Hampton Roads community will feature performances by soprano Charlene Marchant, mezzo-soprano Lenora Wesley; tenor Jason Dungee; and bass Frank Mitchell.
