HU Presents Free Holiday Performance of Handel's Messiah

Hampton, VA - The Hampton University Department of Music, The University Chamber Orchestra and the Hampton University Choirs present George F. Handel’s Messiah on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 4 p.m. in the Hampton University Convocation Center. Admission for the concert is free and open to the public. Donations to the Choir and/or Orchestra Scholarship Campaign will be accepted.

Maestro Jerry A. Bracey will conduct the timeless holiday musical performance that has become a traditional event in the Hampton Roads community. Faculty soloists from the Department of Music in the School of Liberal Arts and Education are soprano Lorraine McFadden Bell, assistant professor, and baritone Royzell L. Dillard, director of the University Choirs and assistant professor. HU alumnus Jason Dungee, currently a tenor at Westminster Choir College at Rider University, is the special guest.
