HU TO PRESENT FREE CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Hampton, VA - Hampton University's Chamber Orchestra and University Choir will perform Handel's Messiah on Dec. 2 at 4 p.m. in Ogden Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.
"Since the recent tragedies we need to get together in the Christmas season in love and peace," said Jerry Bracey, director of the Hampton University Chamber Orchestra and director of the Jazz Ensemble. Bracey will also perform a soloist at the concert.
"Handel's Messiah directly connects with the Christian belief of a resurrection of our physical body, triumph over adversity and redemption," Bracey said.
Hampton University faculty members and musicians from the Hampton Roads community will perform along with Hampton University students. For more information contact the Hampton University Department of Music at 757-727-5237.
