HU TO CELEBRATE MARTIN LUTHER KING HOLIDAY WITH CONCERT TRIBUTE

Hampton, VA - The Hampton University Department of Music and the Hampton Choirs will host the Annual Martin Luther King Choral Concert in recognition of Martin Luther King Day on Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. in Ogden Hall on campus.

This event is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature choral music by African-American composers and arrangers as performed by the Hampton University Choir.

The choir, which is directed by Royzell L. Dillard, has performed in a number of prominent concerts including during the inauguration of President Clinton, in the St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York, and also in Ontario, Canada for the Canadian Arts Foundation. The Hampton Concert Choir also performed with the Virginia Symphony at its holiday concert at the Hampton Coliseum.
