HU TO HOLD CELEBRATION FOR MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM
Hampton, VA - Hampton University's men's basketball team will receive a City Proclamation for their Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship win from Hampton Mayor Mamie Locke on Friday, March 22 on campus.
In recognition of the team's second-straight MEAC title, Hampton University will host an appreciation event at 4 p.m. in Ogden Hall.
The event will begin with a police escorted caravan procession that will canvass the University's campus and proceed to Ogden Hall where cheerleaders and the Band will perform.
The event is free and open to the public.
The celebration event will be followed by an Afternoon Delight Party, which will be from 5-6:30 p.m. and will feature DJ Vince.
Hampton University men's basketball team earned the MEAC title after having a stellar season with a record of 17-1 (26-6 overall) and by defeating the Howard University Bison 80-62 in the finals. The No. 15 seeded Pirates went on to compete for the NCAA Tournament, but fell to No. 2 seeded University of Connecticut Huskies 78-67.
