NATIONALLY RECOGINIZED SPEAKER KICKS OFF NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH
Hampton, VA - In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, the Hampton University Museum has invited nationally-recognized motivational speaker D.J. Vanas to bring his empowering program to HU's campus.
Vanas' program, "Walking the Warrior Path" will be held in the Education Room of the Hampton University Museum on Nov. 5 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
The program is just one of a series of in-demand seminars that Vanas uses to teach the principles of high performance and leadership at work, school and in life through traditional Native-American concepts of warriorhood. Attendees will learn what it takes to develop their own talents and abilities to become assets to themselves and the organizations they serve--the true meaning of being a warrior.
Vanas, an Odawa Indian, is a captain in the United States Air Force Space Program. As the youngest Chief of Minority Enrollment in the U.S. Air Force Academy, Vanas served as leader of several teams to break records for diversity in the student body. He founded Native Discovery, Inc. in May 1999 to encourage Native Americans' successful progression into the new millennium, and to help people realize their potential to achieve.
