praise and worship artist Ron Kenoly will perform at Charles H. Flax
Memorial Concert, a part of the Hampton University Ministers' Conference
and Choir Directors'-Organists' Guild Workshop. The concert will be
held at the Hampton University Convocation Center on June 5 at 7 p.m.
Under the direction of Royzell Dillard and James Abbington, the conference
choir will also present a wide variety of sacred music. The concert

PHARMACY SCHOOL RECEIVES $2.1 MILLION TO STUDY ECSTASY |

Hampton, Va. - The
Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Hampton University School
of Pharmacy recently received a $2.1 million award from the National
Institute on Drug Abuse at National Institutes of Health to study
the causes of the symptoms associated with the drug MDMA (Ecstasy).
MDMA is a synthetic, psychoactive drug with both stimulant and hallucinogenic
properties. Street names for MDMA include Ecstasy, Adam, XTC, hug,
beans, and love drug.

Visiting Lecture Series. Caldwell was the only reporter to witness
Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination, which will be the focus of

University will host the Silver Scholarship Gala on Friday, April 25, 2003,
at 7 pm in the HU Convocation Center. The gala is a tribute to President
William R. Harvey's 25 years of leadership to Hampton University and the
community and will include dining and dancing with entertainment provided
by MCA Recording artists :"The O.J.'s," known for their classic hits such
as "Family Reunion," "Love Train," "For the Love of Money," and "Use to
Be My Girl."
There is a $250 scholarship donation. Proceeds will benefit the University's
scholarship fund.

(AIM) Mission has been selected for satellite flight in NASA's Small Explorer
(SMEX) program.
Hampton's research project was one of two missions selected from among 43
