HU's CENTER FOR MINORITY FAMILY HEALTH SPONSORS FAMILY FORUM

Hampton, VA - Hampton University's Center for Minority Family Health is sponsoring a Family Forum, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the School of Nursing, 103 Emancipation Drive on the campus of Hampton University.

Many parents are frustrated about how to keep their children safe, healthy and emotionally well. To address these concerns, the Center for Minority Family Health is providing parents with the opportunity to voice their issues, ask questions, and seek the advice of Dr. Adolph Brown.

Brown, an associate professor of psychology at Hampton University and noted child psychologist, will also be giving an address on, "Keeping Our Children Well."

"Individually, we are well, but as a community, we are not. Many of us fall through the cracks, and it is time we pay attention to our overall wellness," said Brown.

Funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Center for Minority Family Health provides faculty and students the opportunity to collaborate on identifying life span/intergenerational health concerns; evaluate health issues related to families' socioeconomic status; and acknowledge strengths of families and creating innovative approaches to health.

Childcare will be provided, and light refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public. To register or for more information call (757) 727-0473, or send an email to cheryl.killion@hamptonu.edu
