Hampton University 2008 Campus Election Results
Hampton University's new crop of student decision makers seem ready for the task of leadership. During the election process, candidates' promises, pictures and vows to the student body were printed on posters strung throughout the HU Student Center.
Now, the 2008-2009 election winners have been selected, and they should be ready to hit the campus running this fall. A day's worth of voting yielded the following results for student government and class leaders for next school year:
Seniors Last Words
Another ONYX class is graduating!
At 10a.m. on May 11, seniors will take their seats in the Armstrong Stadium. The Student Connection asked some of these seniors to talk about their experience at HIU.
"These four years have gone by so fast, it seems like yesterday I was moving in my freshman dorm," said Imani McNeal, senior, marketing major from Los Angles, Calif. McNeal plans to attend law school upon graduation.
"Hampton has prepared me to enter the "real world." Attending an HBCU has expanded my knowledge about African-American history, further equipping me with skill sets necessary to dismantle existing stereotypes," said Christina Tilghman, history major and leadership studies minor from Hampton, Va. Tilghman will attend graduate school to study international development.
